Broadband and Health Care

Written by:

In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this week USTelecom launched a new video wall on our home page focusing on health care issues - and how across the country, the widespread availability of broadband is helping more Americans get better access to health care.  The video wall highlights how broadband can lower health bills and allow long distance monitoring by medical 'guardian angels'.

We've also posted a new Broadband Now vidcast focusing on health care.  Whether by connecting patients in rural areas to medical experts, allowing doctors to remotely monitor chronically ill patients, or streamlining health care procedures by using electronic, interconnected medical records, annual savings from health IT advances could average almost $81 billion over 15 years. For a closer look at how broadband is leading to life-changing advances in health care, be sure to watch the newest episode of Broadband Now
