USTelecom Unveils New Public Safety and National Security Telecom Toolkit
August 1, 2008

This week, USTelecom held a press event - and online webinar - to unveil an exciting very unique and compelling resource: the Public Safety and National Security Telecom Toolkit.
USTelecom works closely with government agencies across the country to help facilitate public-private cooperation when it comes to issues of emergency preparedness. The toolkit started as an innocent question among colleagues: Can we give our member companies a sense of all the different agencies with a telecom national security/public safety functionality? How they fit together, what they do and how they integrate with telecom industry emergency preparedness efforts?
That simple question began as a two-week project and took on a life of its own with every new agency meeting and stakeholder interaction. Seven months later, USTelecom has something pretty extraordinary to share: A self-guided PowerPoint presentation that serves as a tool to allow users to navigate through these layers of complexity with relative ease.
If you're interested, check out the toolkit, now posted on our website.
