USTelecom Executives Out and About

Written by:

This week saw USTelecom executives out - here in DC and around the country - talking about top telecom issues.

At a dinner briefing for the Large Urban County Caucus of the National Association of Counties, USTelecom Senior Vice President of Strategic Communications and Industry Affairs Tom Amontree presented an overview of USTelecom and the critical role our industry plays for consumer choice and investment.  The county officials were particularly interested in the state-by-state information on broadband delivery on the NextGenWeb website.

This week also saw USTelecom's Vice President for Industry and State Affairs Robert Mayer speak at the New York Telephone State Association annual convention, where he provided a Washington DC update that featured insights into the major issues under consideration in Congress and before the FCC.

And finally, USTelecom Vice President and General Counsel Genie Barton moderated a panel discussion at the Global Telecommunications Meeting that focused on broadband connectivity and advanced services. Barton kicked off the panel with a short presentation on the range of technologies available today and the market forces that present challenges and opportunities to service providers.

We're glad to have these opportunities to speak to other groups - it's a great chance to get out and talk about our top issues and hear, first hand, what others think.
