Eating iodized salt can add 10-15 IQ points to newborns' mental capacity

The Network for the Sustained Elimination of Iodine Deficiency is a public-private collaboration seeking to end the global scourge of iodine deficiency and its attendant mental retardation. The Network has just released its Global Scorecard on progress i the worldwide campaign to iodize salt. The Salt Institute has further information available as does the International Council for the Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders.
