Blog Post from Pat Cleary
Welcome GMA!

You'll notice on our pages today the emergence of a new member of the BizCentral.org family, the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA). For the record, "GMA represents the world's leading food, beverage and consumer products companies. The association promotes sound public policy, champions initiatives that increase productivity and growth and helps to protect the safety and security of the food supply through scientific excellence. The $2.1 trillion food, beverage and consumer packaged goods industry employs 14 million workers, and contributes over $1 trillion in added value to the nation's economy. "
...But that's just for the record.
In real terms, GMA is a influential, vibrant group here in town that is on the leading edge of nutrition and food safety issues. Let's just say that without GMA and its members, everybody in America would be a lot worse off, and a lot hungrier. They are blessed with great leadership in the person of Pam Bailey, their new CEO, who joined GMA from BizCentral.org participant the Personal Care Products Council. See? The blogosphere is a real springboard. We thank her for her willingness to engage in the blogosphere once again.
GMA will be represented ably here by Scott Openshaw, a savvy guy and a good writer. We're darned lucky to have him, and very happy to have GMA on board. So join us in welcoming GMA to the BizCentral.org gaggle. We hope you'll give their entries a read.
Hey -- is anybody else hungry....?
