Friday Follies: Cars, Cheese and Jimmy Hoffa
April 11, 2008

I spent most of this past week in Las Vegas at the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries convention. These are the world's recyclers. Convention chairman was my old NAM buddy Kendig Kneen of Al-jon in Ottumwa, Iowa, who makes things like balers and car crushers. He sent me a link to this great History Channel video of one of his car crushers in use. Turn an adventurous and inquisitive History Channel reporter loose with a car crusher and watch what happens. Sure it crushes cars, but turns out it also crushes bowling balls, cans of soda, at least one keg of beer -- and cans of spray cheese. No sign of Jimmy Hoffa in the crushed cars, although that's at least one theory.
So click here to watch this week's Friday Follies -- and watch out for the cheese spray.
