The "Insourcing 50" List
February 28, 2008
Written by: Nancy McLernon
Take a look at the first annual "Insourcing 50" list of the largest U.S. subsidiaries of foreign companies. We call them "insoucing companies" because they "insource" jobs to the United States. The list, based on 2006 U.S. revenue, was compiled for OFII by the accounting firm of RSM McGladrey. Total 2006 U.S. revenue for the companies on the list was over $1.1 trillion. German and Japanese based companies make up the greatest number of the list, with 12 and 8 companies, respectively. Key industries for the Insourcing 50 list include Automobiles, Household Durables, Financial Services, Food Products and Pharmaceuticals.
