Energy Efficiency: A Thing of Beauty

I don't often take the time to pour through advertising supplements, but this week's WaPo "Environmental Leadership" insert caught my attention. There amongst the articles and ads was a full-page spread by Dominion Power, depicting a group of visitors at an art museum standing around staring at ... a programmable thermostat. Like the kind manufactured by the members of our Residential & Commercial Controls. The kind that are a significant part of today's High Performance Buildings and will play an important role in tomorrow's Smart Grid.
While thermostats and CFLs and advanced meters may never actually be viewed as things of beauty, we can admire them (and their manufacturers) for the role they play in building a more energy efficient future.
