Why I'm for Memphis and Tennessee: The Rx Angle
April 7, 2008
Written by: Chris Krese
Georgetown, my alma mater, is out of the NCAA Tournament. So, I needed an alternative strategy for choosing an allegiance in tonight's men's basketball championship and the women's matchup on Tuesday.
Serendipity: today, I laid eyes on a study published in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education. Co-authored by top minds at The University of Memphis and The University of Tennessee, the study found that every dollar invested in a school of pharmacy can yield a return of $27.90. That's enough for me. For helping to tell the story of pharmacy, I say "Go Tigers" and "Go Lady Vols."
However, kudos also are due to Kansas for helping to magnify the reach of the study. I'll hedge just a bit and say a Jayhawks win also would be highly deserved, as gauged by the "pharmacy promotion meter."
