We agree with the Chairmen that it is time to modernize the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), and have been working with Congress, the Administration and stakeholders to enhance the way chemicals are reviewed and managed.
We also want to take a moment to thank Chairman Waxman, Subcommittee Chairman Rush and the Committee for the inclusive stakeholder process they hosted in advance of yesterday's introduction and the opportunity we were provided to participate and voice our industry's views regarding best ways to enhance our nation's chemicals review and management system. We hope to continue working with the committee as they further refine the bill.
The food, beverage and consumer packaged goods industry is committed to helping enact meaningful TSCA reform based on sound science that will ensure consumer confidence, while promoting jobs and innovation.
