Flat Expectations

It's the same, steady tune.
Business Roundtable member companies remain unchanged--since last December--in their outlook on expectations for sales, capital expenditures and employment over the next six months.
Our forward-looking survey, released on a quarterly basis, also notes that despite the economic downturn, BRT companies are bolstered by the strong demand for U.S. goods and services from around the world.
Simply put, participation in the international economy is crucial to success.
Our members' steady outlook on the economic growth does not ameliorate the significant pressures on our country's economy. It's just their economic reality. We're all concerned about stagnant growth but Congress must continue to take steps to address this turmoil.
It's unfortunate that Congress took a step back today from addressing our economy. International agreements, like the one between the U.S. and Colombia, help American citizens, communities and companies prosper.
