A quick-thinking truck driver saved the life of an
unconscious woman on Route 22 in W. Va. and
prevented a potential highway disaster.
After he noticed the elderly woman slumped over the wheel after suffering a heart attack, the truck driver passed the car, and then slowed and stopped his truck and the woman's car behind it, preventing her car from drifting into other vehicles.

Each year the trucking industry logs more than 220 billion
miles to deliver the food, medicine, clothing, fuel and nearly 100 percent of
the consumer goods we rely on. This commitment to service also includes a
commitment to safety for all motorists sharing our nation's roads. Statistics
show that trucking is the safest it has ever been since the U.S. Department of
Transportation began keeping those numbers in 1975.
