Thanks to Members of Congress Not Cosponsoring Card Check

Written by:

Organized labor's No. 1 priority in the 111th Congress, The Employee Free Choice Act of 2009 (EFCA) was introduced March 10 with 40 Senate sponsors and 223 House sponsors. This contentious legislation would make organizing workforces easier by removing requirements for secret ballot elections during the unionizing process, and subject companies with newly formed unions to mandatory binding arbitration if labor contracts are not negotiated within 120 days.

ATA wants to take this opportunity to thank legislators that have stood up to political pressure from organized labor and NOT cosponsored this legislation otherwise known as card check. We hope they continue to show reservation with this bill that would have negative effects on the trucking and business community as a whole.

Senators that have NOT cosponsored S. 560 the Employee Free Choice Act of 2009 (EFCA).
