Trip to THUMS Islands
October 6, 2009
Written by: Jane VanRyan
A few days ago, I had the pleasure of traveling to California's Long Beach harbor to visit the THUMS Islands. Owned and operated by Occidental Petroleum, these islands have been producing oil and natural gas for more than 40 years. But from the shore, they appear to be resorts with condominiums, waterfalls and sculptures, which enhance the beauty of the seascape.
Below is a podcast about the THUMS Island tour, featuring commentary from Frank Komin, president of Occidental Petroleum, and Charlie Plant, the production manager on Island White.
