Charlie Stenholm's Case for Offshore Drilling

As the old saying goes, "it doesn't take a rocket scientist" to conclude that it makes sense to drill for more of America's own oil and natural gas. Just look at the numbers. Demand for oil has been outstripping supply and has put upward pressure on prices. And with today's prices, drilling to increase domestic oil supplies needs to be a part of a comprehensive, long-term energy plan.
Sounds simple, right? Perhaps it could be if energy policy weren't front-and-center in a high-stakes partisan battle in Congress.
This week I had the pleasure of interviewing Charlie Stenholm (D-TX), a cotton farmer and a former member of Congress, about the ongoing energy debate. To hear his comments, listen to the podcast below:
